WHY US COMPANIES SHOULD CONSIDER HIRING REMOTE LATIN AMERICAN PROFESSIONALS

In recent years, the global workforce has evolved into a talent marketplace that transcends borders, with Latin America emerging as a prime source of skilled professionals attracting major corporations from leading economic centers. Today, workforce dynamics are global, and individuals no longer need a passport to be part of this global tribe.

One of the most potent signs of this trend is workforce mobility, transitioning individuals from static resources largely tied to their country of residence or company location to virtual, on-demand, and nomadic roles. Similarly, job roles and talent capabilities have shifted from rigid cells to knowledge transfer, aiming to bridge skill gaps.

The digitalization of work, telecommuting, and talent scarcity have created a perfect storm. In the United States, the global resignation rate is now 25% higher than in 2020. Antony Klotz, author of "The Great Resignation," suggests that this trend may persist above average for two to three more years.

In this context, competition for talent has never been fiercer. During the first half of 2022, international hiring rates increased by 145%, with cities like London, Toronto, and Buenos Aires topping the list of locations with the most global remote workers, according to the State of Global Hiring Report 2022 by Deel.

Given the disparity between workforce demand and candidate scarcity, such hiring practices have become highly profitable and attractive for companies seeking talent in countries boasting excellent professionals and competitive costs. For instance, roles related to product and design profiles are shifting from the USA to countries like Argentina and India. A data scientist in Buenos Aires, for example, may cost 50% less than their counterpart in the United States. Moreover, this access to world-class talent enables companies to innovate faster and create superior products and solutions.

Reasons to Hire On-Demand Talent from Latin America:

- Global Economic Dynamics: With the global economy slowing down, companies seek preventive measures to mitigate labor market impacts. Latin America offers a competitive advantage by providing access to highly skilled professionals swiftly and efficiently.

- Market Entry Strategies: Integrating Latin American professionals can be part of companies' strategies for entering the regional market, offering valuable insights, contacts, and local perspectives.

- Diverse Skillsets: Latin American talent excels in various roles, including Digital Marketing Managers, HR Professionals, Video Game Developers, Data Scientists, and Cybersecurity Experts.

- Cost-Effectiveness: Companies embrace globalization by accessing highly qualified talent in Latin America at more competitive costs, leveraging currency advantages and economic dynamics.

- Emerging Tech Hubs: Latin American cities like Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Bogotá, Córdoba, and Santiago de Chile are emerging as significant IT and software development hubs, with a projected employment of over 1.2 million programmers in the next three years.

- Tech Innovation: Latin American tech talent is increasingly sought after by global leaders like Apple, Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft, valued for attributes like creativity, determination, resilience, and hard work.
