Role Expectations

As a Tax Staff Accountant, you will:

• Ensure clients comply with IRS regulations and meet tax obligations by staying informed on the latest tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare accurate and timely tax returns for clients of various sizes, proficiently completing forms like 1040, 1120S, 1120, and 1065.
• Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for minimizing client tax liabilities and implement effective tax reduction strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive and secure client records to support the tax preparation process.
• Interact professionally with clients, providing guidance on tax matters and assisting with understanding implications and exploring marketing/branding opportunities.
• Help clients meet local and state licensing requirements, including for the cannabis industry.
• Conduct thorough technical reviews of tax returns to ensure compliance and quality.
• Meet all Continuing Professional Education obligations annually to stay current with industry developments.

Skills & Attributes

We are seeking a tax staff accountant with a proven track record in tax preparation and the following skills and qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting
• A minimum of 1 year in Tax Preparation, demonstrating a deep understanding of tax codes and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using tax preparation software such as UltraTax or similar platforms, along with experience in task management applications.
• Professional English communication skills
• Ability to efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced tax environment.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex financial data, identify tax-saving opportunities, and resolve tax-related challenges effectively.
• Excellent accounting skills to comprehend financial records, income statements, and related documents accurately.
• Exceptional customer service skills to build and maintain positive client relationships, offering assistance, guidance, and support throughout the tax preparation process.
